LIN-MANUEL MIRANDA (Usnavi; Music and Lyrics; Original Concept) won the 2008 Tony Award for Best Original Score for In the Heights. He wrote the first incarnation of In the Heights during his sophomore year at Wesleyan University, CT. Off-Broadway: In the Heights: nine Drama Desk nominations, including Best Music, Best Lyrics and won the award for Outstanding Ensemble Performance; the Lucille Lortel Award and Outer Critics Circle Award for Best Musical; the Obie Award for Outstanding Music and Lyrics; a Theatre World Award for Outstanding Debut Performance and the Clarence Derwent Award, both for Mr. Miranda's performance. THOMAS KAIL (Director) was nominated for a 2008 Tony Award for his direction of In the Heights. Off B’way: In the Heights (Callaway Award, Drama Desk nom., Outer Critics nom.) Directed the world premiere of Broke-ology at the 2008 Williamstown Theater Festival. He is the artistic director and co-founder of Back House Productions, the resident theater company of NYC’s Drama Book Shop. He is the co-creator and director of the hip-hop improv group Freestyle Love Supreme. Other recent work has been seen at 37 Arts, Ars Nova, HBO Comedy Festival, Cherry Lane Theatre (Mentor Project), Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Flea Theatre, Melbourne Comedy Festival, Montreal Comedy Festival, and the O’Neill Musical Theatre Conference. He is a consulting producer and a Music Director on the new television show The Electric Company, which will air on PBS in 2009. Recipient of the 2008 Martin E. Segal Award from Lincoln Center. ANDY BLANKENBUEHLER (Choreographer) won the 2008 Tony Award for Best Choreography for In the Heights. Recent credits include The Apple Tree (B'way, City Center Encores!), Desperately Seeking Susan (West End, London) and the Off-B'way production of In the Heights (Lortel, Outer Critics, Calloway and Drama Desk Awards for Outstanding Choreography). CASEY HUSHION (Assistant Director) Casey is thrilled to be back In The Heights, after having assistant directed the Off-Broadway production at 37 Arts. Most recently, Casey was the Assistant Director of the Broadway, West End and National Tour productions of The Drowsy Chaperone. Other Broadway credits include Good Vibrations at the Eugene O’Neill Theatre. A graduate of New York University, Casey has worked at regional theatres such as Goodspeed Opera House, North Shore Music Theatre, North Carolina Theatre and Papermill Playhouse. Favorite credits include The King and I starring Lou Diamond Phillips, Jekyll and Hyde starring Sebastian Bach and Joseph... starring Sheena Easton. Casey had the pleasure of directing a concert version of Carousel with the Boston Pops and will be returning to direct A Little Night Music with the Pops this June. She has directed new musicals for festivals such as the New York Music Theatre Festival and the National Alliance, including Tinyard Hill, Having It Almost and Monica! The Musical. Currently Jill is producing the hip-hop comedy group Freestyle Love Supreme and the national tour of The Drowsy Chaperone. SANDER JACOBS (Producer) has served as a co-producer and/or major investor for numerous Broadway, national and international productions, including a selection of theatre's most celebrated and critically acclaimed musicals. PETER FINE (Producer). The son of a New York City cab driver, Peter Fine is the quintessential New York entrepreneur. He grew up in public housing in Queens and became a social-worker, pursuing his PhD in Sociology at NYU. In 1995, he co-founded Atlantic Development Group. In 13 years the company has grown to become a major development, construction, leasing and management company in New York. Atlantic has built 55 buildings in the last five years, totaling over $1 billion of mixed-use, residential, retail, office and community facility projects in New York City. In The Heights is Peter’s first B’way production.

HAROLD NEWMAN (Associate Producer) was born and raised in Washington Heights during the 1930's and 40's. I attended George Washington High School overlapping with Alan Greenspan and he overlapped with Henry Kissinger. Today the school's alumni hero is Manny Ramirez of the Boston Red Sox. I have been active for the past 5 years with the high school, which is today nearly 90% Dominican, supporting a program which brings actors and writers to integrate with the school's English courses. My involvement with In the Heights is a labor of love and of maintaining cherished memories of people and times.
